Long-distance move from Battle Creek, MI to Waterloo, IA

Five big stars!

From start to end, they were polite and efficient. On a busy weekend, High Priority Movers squeezed us in and moved our large Two-bedroom apartment across the bay in three-hours. Their cost was also affordable! This is an on-time, careful, and professional group.

Long-distance move from Belleville, IL to Dallas, TX

Quote way below what they actually charge.

I provided an exact list of items being shipped from Belleville, IL to Dallas, TX, along with pictures. They estimated $2210. In the end, they said they couldn’t deliver the piano I told them about before they came out because they sent 2 guys that couldn’t handle it. AND they demanded $3485 when it was delivered. ($1200 higher than estimated) even after excluding a 600 pound piano that was in the original estimate! They demanded cash before dropping off the items. Turns out High Priority just brokered out to AMPM Moving who I’d never heard of until they demanded the cash payment upon arrival in TX. A guy named Alex was rude about the fact that he didn’t care if their estimate was off by 2000 pounds, I needed to have cash before they would deliver the items. And High Priority was no help when I called to let them know what was happening. Caution to anyone that may not have thousands of extra dollars upon delivery. I only had about 30 items. How many thousands of pounds would they have been off by if it was my entire house being moved?

Long-distance move from Philadelphia, PA to Eugene, OR

Excellent company! Made my Move easy.

I dislike moving in general whether its local or long distance. I have been through many over the years and it never gets easier. My most recent move from PA to OR had been the best ever. I selected high priority movers and immediately they had been on top of things. They were very responsive and detailed with every part of the move. Items were picked up quick, delivered on time and in one piece. The communication from them was the best I have encountered. I was notified of every step in the process and with time/date/location details. Couldn't be happier using this company for a life situation that is never easy. Would definitely recommend them for the future.

Long-distance move from Deerfield, IL to Roslyn, WA

Horrible company from beginning to end.

Moving from Illinois to Washington State.
They are brokers, they don’t move you.
They arrived 1 day after promised, still 2 day window
Promised things to arrive on a Friday, I called the previous Wednesday, talked to Howard and he said everything was ok for Friday
That day customer service tells me our things are in their facilities in Illinois, not even scheduled for next week and they could take up to 21 more days to arrive (they loaded the truck 10 days before that)
After a complaint they scheduled the delivery for the following Friday, but didn’t arrive until Saturday.
Only one guy comes with the truck, whom just left when he got tired without finish unloading the truck or assembling all they had to.
We lost items, got a couple of things that don’t belong to us, they broke several things, the boxes -new and good quality- were in very bad shape. They loaded and unloaded them 6 times.

They never answered any emails to cover the lost and broken items.
Between the lost and broken items, we estimate over $800 loss.

The guys were all very nice however my stuff had a ton of breakage when it arrived. I could tell by the shape of the boxes, which were 95% all new u-haul, very sturdy boxes that they had just been thrown , and not handled with any kind of care. I would not recommend any professional company again after this. If I have to do it. I’ll drive my own truck.

Long-distance move from Hummelstown, PA to Waldorf, MD

Go elsewhere fast!

You go over everything you want to ship with them. They tell you that the packing is included and when they show up they say it is not included and want to greatly change your estimate. Only 2 guys showed up in a Uhaul. Then they got very aggressive when I said this is not what we agreed upon and told them not to start. They made threatening comments and I thew them out. They would have broke my things for sure. They would not refund my almost $2K deposit! Credit card takes their side. Filed complaint with BBB.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1900

Official company response

Mr. Smith sorry to hear you were not satisfied with the move. The original estimate was signed on 02/13/2019 for a pickup window of 02/21/2019 -02/22/2019.
The only packing service that was included in the estimate was to wrap moving blankets on your furniture not to pack your boxes. When the movers arrived at your home you only had 4 boxes packed. The movers explained they can pack the boxes for you if needed but it would be additional money or we can re schedule the move for a different date so you could pack the boxes yourself.

Attached is the document that was signed off on and the services listed in the estimate.

This estimate includes the following:
* Professional Door to Door service.
* Expert advice and guidance throughout the course of your move as well as correspondence between carrier.
* Disassembly of all standard furniture required for safe transport.
* Reassembly of all items that were disassembled by the movers on the day of pick-up unless otherwise specified.
* Wrapping of all furniture with quilted/padded moving blankets.

We strive to have excellent customer service if you would like to discuss the matter further you are more than welcome to call or email the office.

Moving.

1star is to many for this company. I was quoted 2600 and by the time it got loaded in Alanta and delivered in Lakeland I ended up paying $4300 when I told them up front my move would require a 17-20ft box truck. To complicate things even more they wont take a company card just cash, cashiers check or money order. This company is horrible and they even had the nerve to ask for a tip and set outside my new place honking the horn waiting for it after my husband and son had to help unload. Do not waste uou time or money.

We apologize that you feel as if you had a bad moving experience with us. Please keep in mind we provided you with an over the phone estimate based on the inventory items that you provided us. The carrier simply just charged you for the extra space you occupied in the truck at the same rate per cubic foot you were already locked in at. We strive to have excellent customer service If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to us to resolve any matters.

Do Not Use This Company.

Service is lousy. The customer service rep smooths you over. Then once the packers arrive they immediately ask for more money. They say you have way more than what was estimated. You do not get free storage like the contract says. If you request storage they charge you a flat rate of $2000 for redelivery. My boxes look like they have been rolled down a hill.YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

Shady business practice

They called me to quote me for my move, never once explaining that they are not a moving company, but a moving broker. The rep preached that other companies would try and take advantage of me, but him not being upfront and honest about the type of business they're running was contradictory to say the least. The representative will sweet-talk you because it's their job, lock you into a large deposit on a contract, and won't even tell you what moving company you're booked with unless you ask. They booked us with a company that had awful reviews, but the rep said they "don't go by reviews". If you read the fine print in the contract, you'll see that if you have a problem with the moving company, you need to take it up with them and that it isn't the broker's fault. The arbitration process can be annoying and lengthy; it's best to just go with trusted, reputable movers even if they're more expensive. I added the second image to show that while they called themselves General Moving & Storage in their contract, their DOT number sent me to High Priority Movers LLC, so I'm sharing my review here.

DO NOT USE unless you want to sue!!!

I want to give this place ZERO stars!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They absolutely cheated me out of my money!!! The initial person who did my estimate left off important items from my inventory, they didn’t reserve enough space for the items on my inventory, they sent one mover to pick everything up and he upcharged me to utilize extra space on the truck for items that he said were not included on my inventory but actually were (i.e. he said my bed frames were on the inventory but not my mattresses), I called customer service and she and the mover argued about the space (she said he wasn’t giving the quoted about and/or packing it wrong and he yelled at her about not knowing her cubic footage), they took over 3 weeks to deliver when they intia said 7 days max and I called 3 times about delivery and they literally gave me a different time frame each time, and when the mover showed up he tol me didn’t know how to assemble anything, so a guy from my neighbor helpEd assemble one bed, AND some of my furniture and an appliance was damaged. The only thing that makes matters worse is the person in “upper management “ I spoke with was extremely rude. The service is GARBAGE!!!

High Priority Movers Nightmare!!

This is a nightmare that Won't end. High Priority Movers are just a 3rd party booking company, they have several other names they are under all give you similar quotes. You will be quoted a price only to have it increase ( nearly double ) the day they do the pick up. It doesn't end there : the price will continue to go up for various reasons upon delivery of your property ie; they can't get their big truck down your street ie; big semi they used for 3 other families before your destination, or if you have steps, or the front door is too far from the truck .. What ever they quote you, plan on it being 3x that. Nightmare!!

Long-distance move from Providence, RI to Chicago, IL

Stay away!

Please do yourself a huge favor and stay away from these people! I have moved many times in my life: from Asia to Europe to North America and have never experienced anything close to this absolute nightmare! We ended up paying almost $500 more than we were told it would be. We also had to leave a lot behind, because they charged a much higher rate for any additional item than the rate we were given originally. It was heartbreaking. We were told we would get our stuff within 3-5 days, but we ended up 10 days without furniture. They suddenly decided to call us on the 11th day, saying they will be there in 20 minutes! They showed up hours late, because their truck was too big for the road (at the original sale they assured us they could service our address) and when they finally showed up, they refused to take the money order they had wanted us to have for them. I was on the phone with their manager having a nervous breakdown (no joke) before they finally accepted it. The worst is yet to come:

A LOT OF OUR STUFF WAS DAMAGED!! priceless personal stuff we entrusted them with.. I saw how carelessly they handled it. Many of the boxes were wet for some reason and some had disintegrated. When I expressed concern the workers called me a ** ,thinking I don't understand their language. They refused to take our couch, because they said it's TOO HEAVY!! and wanted to leave it on the grass. I cried my eyes out. Thank god my husband arrived before they left and carried the couch up himself with one of the workers. PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY!!

Run around with moving.

I moved June 11th from California to Connecticut. July 10th inquired when to expect my load via text. Was told it hasn't been 21 business days since they received payment June 26th. Numerous texting debating final payment at delivery increased twice, no one could answer. Several times a manager would be justifying increase. That took 3 weeks, he looked at account and agreed on 400. Allstate movers picked up load, stored it but take no responsibility 60 plus days later delivery due August 28th. I am widow who has no equipment for work because high priority movers hadn't contracted anyone to move my load from California. Dave your rep. told me you used reliable carriers. Who has insurance, Dave said it was insured for 10,000.00 dollars. The carrier you choose was 3 hours later than time frame given, they stored it. Are they responsible for damages. MOVE IT CUBE IT will be delivering 28th. Since I contracted you, my load is in second movers control, you the broker, subcontracted these movers. I hold you responsible for this fiasco. You lost a extra month and half income and damages if there are any.

Failure 100%.

I moved June 11th from California to Connecticut. Made second installment June 26th, inquired July 15th on eta, was told via text it hasn't been 21 business days. Debating final installment cost at delivery via text. Was told a manager would be in touch to justify increased cost. That took 3 weeks. My load sat in Allstate Granada hills until last week. Move it Cube it has it in NJ and will be delivering 28th of August. Who is responsible for damages if they incur, I hire you HIGH priority movers (fun priority even in you name). Movers blame YOU, the broker. I have miss over 70 days of work, expected 30 days. Are you making any amends since you are the broker. 2 different movers, Who has insurance, You told me they are insured.

Not to be trusted.

I don't think I've ever published a negative review. My wife and I both worked in the customer service industry for 4 years, so we know how hard it is to deliver top notch service all of the time. However, I urge you not to do business with High Priority Movers, or the moving company the contracted our job with, Neville and Sons Trucking (Clermont/Winter Garden, FL). I honestly don't have time to write out all of the details of how unprofessionally our situation has been handled. But here's the bottom line: our truck was loaded in Tacoma, WA, on July, 24, 2018. After a 14 hour (!!) load time, they said we had to pay 50% more than the estimate we were given the day before (!). Now, 34 days later, my wife, 3 children, and I sit in Huntsville, Alabama, in an empty house with no hope of our truck ever arriving. We have been given 4 different estimated arrival dates (Aug 1-3, Aug 7, Aug 22, and Aug 27), and all have come and gone. Today, I called the WA State Patrol, and we are now seeking legal counsel. Anyone we speak with at High Priority (Adam, Tiffany, Dan, Alexus, Sierra) handles us politely, but they are not to be trusted. Getting anyone on the phone from Neville and Sons has been next to impossible. Needless to say, I cannot discourage anyone strongly enough from doing business with either High Priority Movers or Neville and Sons Trucking.

Worst customer service.

If they was such a rating of a negative number this company would deserve it.
They made so many promises in terms of pick-up and delivery dates then were days and weeks before they actually showed up. All they had to say was sorry and not a mention of a discount or anything for MY inconvenience.
Also they totally underestimated my stuff so I was charged DOUBLE when they came to pick up my stuff. This is after I explained I had a few big heavy items.
I will never recommend this company to anyone.

Horrible,unprofesional,still Not Delivered.

My items were picked up 20th of June. I was told they would be delivered in a week both when I booked and when movers picked up. every week since I have called and asked about delivery and they say next week and they don't know what day. Over a month later they have still not been delivered nor left North Carolina at all. I am due to give birth any day now since this process has taken so much longer than I was told. I still have no idea when my stuff will be delivered. I am 2 hours away from my storage unit and my husband is in the military and often not home to help me. I have moved many times with different moving companies and this is by far the most unprofessional company I have ever worked with. My items could be delivered while I am giving birth at the hospital and I will have no way of receiving my items if they come at all or now I have to do this with a newborn. if I ever do receive my items they will be so destroyed by the heat its not worth paying to move at all. boxes were also never labled by company or numbered.

Long-distance move from New York to Virginia

Very Disappointed.

Probably the worst moving experience I could have imagined. Gave me a quote of $1,346. When the movers came (both times) they said I had to come up with more money or they would not load/upload my belongings. All together I had to pay about $450 more than the quote and had to run to the nearest ATM to get it. The movers would not take my money order that High Priority promised they would. We waited around for 8 hours for the pick up because they kept getting later and later. I was told they would deliver it July 16-18. Then we got yelled at on the phone by a woman saying, "I don't know who told you that but we absolutely cannot have it there anytime before the 20th!" I had to sleep on a blowup bed with very little of my things for a week. They said they were coming on the 19th then said they could not make it because they forgot about another delivery they had. We called the next day because they said they would deliver that day instead. High Priority said that we lied about them saying they were coming the day before, so we had to take screen shots of the conversation and send it to them. My mother was on the phone with them and the person thought they put her on hold, but did not and she heard them swearing and calling her a "[EDIT] wackadoodle." The worst service ever. Please I know its cheaper than other options but just pay more somewhere else so you can be confident that your belongings are safe and secure and will arrive when they say they will.

Quotes.

Made it clear to Kurt Daniels at the beginning of our conversation that I was only collecting quotes. He proceeded with his high pressure sales pitch anyway. I patiently listened and answered his questions. I informed him again that I was merely collecting quotes. He wanted to know when he could call me back. I told him it would be better for me if I called him with a decision either way. He then told me that he could not TRUST that he would get called back. I said you're asking me to trust you on a number of things. He reluctantly replied a lot of people say that and never call him back, adding that he is holding resources back until I call him. I called him back within the hour to thank him for his time and that we had decided on another mover. Once again the high pressure begins why my decision is a poor choice and why I should sign with him. I told him that we had made a decision and it wasn't him. Then he gets snotty and rude! He tells me it's obvious that I had made up my mind and that I knew best.. he's just a mover.. thanks for wasting his time and abruptly hung up! I don't usually write negative reviews. I spent 21 years in the military and no one speaks to me like that! Should you choose to use this company.. be prepared for high pressure sales tactics. This was my experience. I wish you better luck and a less stressful move. than I am having.

Long-distance move from Buffalo, NY to Charlotte, NC

No one ever showed up.

First off - HIgh Priority Movers is a broker that owns none of their own vehicles and operates zero moving crews. They either overtly lie about that or mis-characterize what they do.

So, I scheduled movers to go from a city in NY to a city a few hundred miles down the east coast (they have tons of language in their contracts about poor reviews, I don't want to have them come after me somehow) and was given a great price, only a few hundred bucks more than a U-haul and trailer.

The day of the move comes and I am told I am the first move of the day. 9:30 or so I call the company that actually moved me - they're running late and should be to me by noon. 2pm comes - call get another similar answer. 4pm - the truck has broken down and they will be to me first thing the next morning.

Still in the 2 day window so no big deal - "first thing" can be as early as 5AM - so I wake up at 6, call them at 7 - They're on their way from some undisclosed location and should be here soon. by 930 after a couple more phone calls they stop answering my calls and they go directly to a voicemail.

So I call High Priority - they tell me that the truck has broken down and that they are trying to get a replacement. Something that they apparently knew for around 30 hours at this point.

To make an already very long review shorter - they eventually tell me that they can have a truck to me by Friday night - 3 full days outside of the window.

I tell them don't bother. Thankfully I am a young able-bodied man with a friend who happened to be off that week, so I rent a U-haul and load the truck myself.

On that last phone call I am offered my money back - so I was actually feeling pretty good about the situation. I honestly was thinking I would come on here and give them a 4 star review because I don't think they were too much at fault. I wait 2 full weeks for my check in the mail and it never arrives. I'm told it was mailed to the proper address - maybe it was the first time in my adult life a piece of mail was lost, but I doubt it. Still if I had gotten the check in a week or so, still going to write a reasonable review. I finally get my refund nearly 3 weeks after the missed move and find out there is a 15% surcharge for.. for something. So I am out about $150 after having to move myself.

My rating - a GENEROUS 2 STARS.

Hidden cost and very unprofessional.

Their estimate was way off and they held our belongings hostage for 30 days. In their contract it says they stand by their estimate. Not the truth. We gave them a list of 37 items and only took 34 yet our cost went up 1100 dollars. My advice to everyone is to never go with this company and to always read the fine print!

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3000

Official company response

Mr.Ballard we apologize that you feel as if you had a bad experience moving with us. Please keep in mind we provided you with an over the phone estimate based on the inventory items that you provided us. The carrier simply just charged you for the extra space you occupied in the truck at the same rate per cubic foot you were already locked in at. Also, a long carry fee In the signed agreement between yourself and High Priority polices on additional cubic feet are clearly stated. This agreement its clearly stated that the price may fluctuate if your load goes over the space estimated as well as charges may apply to packing, stairs and long carry fees if the truck can’t get within 75 feet of the front door. Your items were not held hostage and we were is constant contact with you and your wife your move was 2112 miles the delivery spread you were given was 7-21 Business days which is how long it took the carrier to deliver.

High Priority movers was the worst company I have ever deal with. They are not professional. Long-distance move from California to Florida

I see I'm one of many who have been scammed by this company.

Beware this company. I booked with them a month ago and canceled the same day as I started learning about how brokers scam you by asking for a deposit upfront and hold your inventory hostage requesting more money. I also checked with the BBB and found that they are C+ Rated, not accredited and have had seven claims in that happened between July and August 2018. I have yet to receive my deposit back. The person I was dealing with magically disappeared. I doubt he was even real as I couldn't find him on LinkedIn or Facebook.

Today they contacted me as if nothing happened indicating that they didn't know it was canceled. Fortunately, I kept the trail which I was able to forward. I then learned that there is a 15% fee if you cancel in less than 72 hours. I'll admit it was in the terms, so my bad, but I canceled within hours. 15% for what? Restocking? I know they will say that they did work, etc., but all companies provide free estimates which is all they did. The person I spoke with Tiffany said they already booked my mover which I find hard to believe since I have had no notification of this.

You can see by the rest of the reviews here that every single one of them experienced the scam I was referring to. There are plenty of other ethical companies out there to go with. Don't waste your time here. You will experience heartache and heartburn. I can only imagine what else I would have endured had I gone with this company.

Long-distance move from Pocatello, ID to Norwich, NY

Warning.

DO NOT use this company!! If I could give less than one * I would .From the beginning to end the move was a nightmare. Day after day after day they told me they were coming to pick up my things, and no one called or showed up. When I called them they did not answer or return most calls. They told me they would make it up to me by way of discounting my move to no more than their cost, but when the truck finally arrived three weeks later, the driver would not unload because no one had delivered that message to him. No surprise my move was MORE than quoted, not discounted to their cost. Virtually everyone I spoke with, from dispatchers to office staff lied. One day they told me the truck was four hours away and I'd be picked up that day, later that day they said it was 19 hours away and it would be another two days. Many of my things were broken or damaged ( how do you break a wooden cocktail table?- which they packed), or missing. I have other people's belongings. When I inquired how to deal with that I was told to go to a website for the BBB. They probably count on people giving up just from sheer exhaustion of dealing with them, and wanting to be done with them. Never use this company !!
